In Conversation, Mark Hussey & Sina Queyras

Coach House Press has a new podcast and the brilliant and generous Mark Hussey took the time to have a conversation with me about Rooms. Thanks everyone—and also on the podcast Ian Williams and Robert McGill! Take a listen. https://soundcloud.com/user-200872392/coach-house-books-podcast-ep-3-feat-ian-williams-robert-mcgill-sina-queyras-and-mark-hussey?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

Happy Valentine’s Day to me. ;) thank you @hummmaggie It was on Woolf’s birthday, in January 1990, that I first saw her essays in context—in the stacks, in large bound copies of the TLS. Looking up & out—I recall looking out into the green of the UVIC campus but this may be a memory built for convenience—& knowing how far I was from everything I longed to be part of. Most particularly, having a productive, healthy writing routine; but also domestic routine, intellectual life, an erotic practice—& a confident sentence. How far? how many decades? how many failed essays, stories, poems, books—relationships! (I began one at this very moment as well, when a student from women’s studies stepped into the pool of light surrounding me…& that ended badly). How many lives it seemed to me I would have to burn through to catch a glimpse of the fire that burned at the core of Woolf’s vision? Obviously I’m going to buy it…only what is the difference with all these editions? Can anyone enlighten me?
